BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group’s Latin American reforestation strategy wins Recognition for action – Nature category at PRI Awards 2026

New York, NY – October 27, 2026 – BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group’s (BTG Pactual TIG) Latin American reforestation strategy, developed in collaboration with Conservation International, recently won the Recognition for action – Nature category at the PRI Awards 2026.

The award recognizes the strategy’s approach to mobilizing finance for sustainable commercial forestry alongside native ecosystem conservation and restoration, targeting measurable benefits for climate, biodiversity, and rural communities together with long-term financial returns.

With Conservation International serving as Impact Adviser for social and environmental outcomes, the strategy closed fundraising at US$1.24 billion in equity commitments in April 2026. Progress across the portfolio includes:

  • Over 30 million trees planted through native ecosystem restoration and commercial tree plantation initiatives across more than 64,000 acres of degraded land in Brazil.
  • More than 53,000 acres under conservation, with native vegetation restoration initiated on an additional 50,000-plus acres.
  • More than 400 miles of streams under enhanced protection.

Rafaela Dortas, Head of ESG at BTG Pactual, and Niko Alexander, VP of Nature Finance Advisory at Conservation International, accepted the award during Climate Week NYC.

BTG Pactual TIG and Conservation International continue to advance a model for large-scale reforestation and restoration that seeks to deliver durable climate impact, meaningful biodiversity outcomes, and tangible benefits for rural communities.
