Tom Hodgman

Senior Portfolio Manager, BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group

Tom Hodgman is Senior Portfolio Manager with BTG Pactual TIG, with a focus on natural climate solutions and conservation strategies across TIG’s portfolio. Tom previously served as Vice President at Goldman Sachs (GS) where he led the nature-based solutions investment program for institutional and corporate clients. Prior to GS, he served as Deputy Managing Director of NatureVest, The Nature Conservancy’s impact investment team. At NatureVest, Tom led some of TNC’s largest sustainable forestry, conservation and forest carbon transactions including the 165,000-acre Great Western Checkerboards in Washington and Montana and the 253,000-acre Cumberland Forest Project in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. The Cumberland Forest Project was recognized by Environmental Finance as the Impact Fund of the Year in 2020. Prior to TNC, Tom worked for Equator, LLC supporting timberland investments in Latin America. Tom holds a BA from Wesleyan University in Environmental Science, a Master of Forestry from the Yale School of the Environment, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
